Thursday Aug. 31 update

Heading for Negaunee today.  Can you believe it’s the labor day weekend already?  And next Wed. we will celebrate our 59th anniversary……..can’t believe it’s been that many years either. Mike’s right knee is “bone on bone”, so he’ll be having a total knee replacement on Nov. 3.  He has to wait that long because it has to be 3 months since a cortisone injection, which he had on July 30. C’mon family!  Use this site...

Family seniors health news

I had repeat ultrasounds of both carotids, then appointment with vascular surgeon yesterday. Am “stable”, so just to continue having testing done every 6 months. Rt. carotid is “about 80% blocked”.Today Gd-pa/Dad had orthopedic evaluation of right knee and his inability to bear weight without pain. Given cortisone injection. New deck railings

Hooray!  Hubby reported this evening that all the spindles are in place now on the railings, and that it looks good!  He’s taken several pictures with our regular camera, so when he comes back downstate I’ll post them.  I’m very anxious to see it…..planning to go up the weekend of the 22nd, 23rd.  Andy and friends will be able to make use of the new decks during their stay the following week-end.

First day of summer

Also – the longest daylight hours…….bummer that now they start getting shorter again. Appliance illness is the name of the game at 9 Fawn Drive this week……reverse osmosis stopped working properly (Culligan coming out on Tuesday); desktop computer failing (Andy coming on Saturday); and today the washer stopped working.   Geesh!!

I still haven’t figured out the differences – between comments and replies.   Why sometimes one is available to do and other times it isn’t.

Father’s Day

Had a nice brunch here yesterday with Jeff, Julie and Todd.  Spent some time discussing potential events/places etc. during our times together in August.  Would like to do some planning ahead with everyone’s input to see what things we would like to do together and those things that might be independent of whole group involvement, fully acknowledging that there will be some of each for all of us.   We were all in agreement that some...
