Post Holiday update

We were at Negaunee from Friday until Tuesday evening.  We didn’t get the rain up there that you got downstate, and the weather was perfect on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Planted the wildflower plants that we purchased.  They all have chicken wire around them to keep the bunnies and chipmunks from getting to them easily.  Now we’ll see how fussy they are going to be about the kind of soil we have there. (probably too...

Sharing update

On our way to Negaunee we visited a wildflower plant nursery near Mason – bought some plants to see how they would do in our “front yard” up here.  It was a very impressive place with many choices and very healthy stock. update

Been a busy week……cardiology appt. for Mike on Monday,  root canal for me on Tuesday, cardiac cath for Mike on Wednesday.  Time to get back to normal routine, whatever normal is at this time in our life.  Planning to head up to Negaunee tomorrow (Friday) and enjoying the company of Tom, Marilyn, Jeff and Julie over the week-end.    Looking forward to some relaxing time with all of them.

Didn’t get it from me, lol.

adding patio too.

So we’ve decided to fix our front yard too, so that people don’t look up at our ugly solar panels, lol. Getting quotes on concrete and wall work. I originally wanted to enclose the yard with a 6foot wall, for some nice private area, but have been warned that the over-zealous Huntington Beach gubermint won’t approve any such eyesore.  Have also been warned that we need to keep a 60-40% hardscape-to-softscape ratio. Geez, I thought...

Using this site

I am consistently checking this site for new posts  twice a day.  Hoping that others will share too.  Mike came home yesterday afternoon, Jeff came by in the evening on his way home after working in Jackson.  NICE!  We’re still enjoying the left-overs from Sunday’s dinner that Jeff had prepared for us.
