On our way to Negaunee we visited a wildflower plant nursery near Mason – bought some plants to see how they would do in our “front yard” up here.  It was a very impressive place with many choices and very healthy stock.

No problems with traffic getting up here – stopped in St. John, took 21 over to 66 for something different to look at.  I did the driving since Mike had to keep his arm in a sling.

Spent the afternoon working outside…..the weather was absolutely perfect, and we so much enjoyed sitting in the screen room between chores.  Kudos to Mike for his idea for building the deck addition.  Next will be to plan the other extension, get the posts in and ready for Jeff and Andy to come up and help build that part – they indicated they would like to help do that.

Tom and Marilyn will be joining us tomorrow for a couple of days.  Unfortunately, it looks like rain is going to put a damper on any outdoor activities.  Bah humbug!

Shannon had a tennis tournament today, against a difficult player, but she did great! didn’t win, she did win her first set, lost the 2nd, and lost in the tie breaker. But just the fact that she was able to hold her own against this girl, was pretty impressive.
Kai’s baseball team in still-in-the-running for the tournament of champions. They need 2 more wins in the playoffs. His batting was really good in the early season, and we thought he was going to have a home-run this year (over the fence) , but he hasn’t pulled it off yet…keep hoping.
I think he had 3 hits early on that were just short of the fence….hasn’t happened in a while though.
Looks like Kai and I are going on a little motorcycle venture tomorrow, just for the day. We’ll take the RV though.
On Monday, Shannon, Kai and I have entered the ‘doo-dah’ tournament at the tennis club, so we have that to look forward to. Kazumi decided not to do it.
Still getting quotes on our front yard patio work. We are settling into our final ideas, it seems.

NICE! All of it! Sounds like a fun week-end.
Dad and I planted 15 wildflower plants today – hard work because of the tree roots etc.
Now we’re crossing our fingers that at least some take – probably won’t really know until next year.
The big question is whether they get enough sun to produce flowers.

Looking forward to our time with the Diamonds tomorrow/Monday. Lots of folks at the lake this
      week-end – of course.
