We’ve decided to go solar

We met with a solar salesman (who was actually from the moon) and have decided to sign up.   We’ve got the perfect conditions for it, really, with a flat roof.  It should take around 8 years for a break-even point, and the system has a 25 year warranty.  At the end of the 25 years, the panels will lose their efficiency to 87%, if I remember right.  Your tax dollars are going to help pay a third, lol, so thanks.  We’re getting the ones that are a little better quality, with built in inverters in each panel.  Wish us luck!

Also, they are going to raise the rates again on us, so that the break-even point will probably come down even more.  It’s hard to say exactly at this point, exactly how much.

Ohhhhh…….so easy when one figures it out! Leaving a comment, I mean.
I didn’t know you were even thinking about going solar, Randy. Sounds
hopeful. Nice to put them on a roof rather than on the sides of homes
like I’ve seen. Hope it works.

  2. A couple co-workers of mine (married couple) did this on their house – they were satisfied with the results last I heard. They enjoy not having a power bill most months! Best of luck on the project!
