Deck Progress Photos

I know Kevin has photos of the railing demolition, once I receive those I’ll put them here as well.

Despite the hard work, I had a great time building this. Having never done any real carpentry or construction before, I feel like I learned a lot. There’s really something to be said for being able to stand and drink a beer on something that didn’t exist a few hours ago. Thanks for involving me in the project!

This is great -both the photos and review. I am personally “ticked pink” with the result, since it was my idea to do this extension, and also with the full agreement with everyone involved that it is going to make a huge difference in available table space. It is definitely extending summer life to the outdoors more. Andy’s already thinking the next project should be an outdoor kitchen.
Anyway – Mike and I are truly grateful for the interest and the hands-on assistance. It was a joy to see the teamwork. Jeff, Andy and Kevin sure were all hard workers; and thanks to their talents, muscle and inputs, the deck will be in in good use in no time.

Looks great! But I think you should go really deck nutso and keep extending it out so that it is abover the lake so it can be used as a diving platform.
