Update

6 days until Thanksgiving 2017. Mike is one week post-op from total knee replacement (rt leg). Whole leg is still swollen, bruised and painful; but he’s managing with a walker to get around the house. Planning on Jeff, Todd, Andy, Sarah and Feifei to be with us for dinner. Julie will be with her family.

Thursday Aug. 31 update

Heading for Negaunee today.  Can you believe it’s the labor day weekend already?  And next Wed. we will celebrate our 59th anniversary……..can’t believe it’s been that many years either. Mike’s right knee is “bone on bone”, so he’ll be having a total knee replacement on Nov. 3.  He has to wait that long because it has to be 3 months since a cortisone injection, which he had on July 30. C’mon family!  Use this site...

All due to arthritis aggravated by the fall in May and ruptured Baker’s cyst.    Hopeful for pain relief. Tomorrow will be my last day for...

backpacking trip to Sierras

Kai, my friend Dale and I went on a backpacking trip to the Sierras.  We only stayed for 2 nights, but it was up at 10,600 feet or even higher.  Lots of snow, lots of mosquitos, and some fish. Woke up 3 times last night because of avalanches.  We had a great time, but it was pure survival mode!

Computer news

Thanks to Andy, I have a new (albeit refurbished) laptop and I am one happy camper.  He installed an SSD in it and spent an afternoon installing my programs and transferring files and folders over to it.   My old one was 6 years old and was painfully slow and would lock up requiring restarts often.  That’s a thing of the past.  I’m at Negaunee right now, and even using the Verizon jetpack, it’s working...
